Cultivating Sustainable Solutions

Volunteer opportunities

Board member

We have an opening for 1-2 new board members. The Board meets once a month to discuss and plan for our Green Thursday events, Earth Day Expo, Farm to Table Dinner, and other activities including Division Street Gardens, IPM and parks.

Green Thursday events

We are always looking for new ideas for presenters and activities about sustainability practices and conservation. Past presentations include the following:

  • Native pollinators
  • Bats
  • Energy efficiency in our homes
  • Smart growth plans for our community
  • Local Farmers

Earth Day Expo

Our HUUGE event of the year brings together local artists, farmers, sustainable businesses and nonprofits at The Lageret. In 2019 the event will be held on Saturday April 27 and we will expand our booths to both upstairs and downstairs and outside of The Lageret!

Earth Day Kids' Activity Float

We will help kids build an environmental-themed float for the Syttende Mai Youth Parade.

Farm to Table Dinner/Brunch

This annual fundraiser features a gourmet meal with fresh food from local farmers and live music.

Division Street Park

Sustainable Stoughton has been taking care of the raised-bed gardens for the last 5 years. We transitioned them to perennial plants that attract native bees and butterflies.

  • Spring: Weeding, planting whiskey barrels, and mulching
  • Summer: Weeding
  • Fall: Clean-up

I'm interested in volunteering!
